Install of the Month: Aloha Pavers

Huntington Beach, CA — Southern California homeowners are working with less water and less space than ever, and natural grass rarely survives the combination. Aloha Pavers recently installed 1,100 square feet of Synthetic Grass Warehouse’s Everglade Fescue and Tiger Putt in a home in Huntington Beach, CA. TigerTurf Everglade Fescue features dual field green and olive green blade tones paired with a green and tan thatch layer, giving it the look of a healthy, perfectly-maintained natural lawn. With an approximately 60-ounce face weight and a 1.625-inch pile height, it’s built for moderate to heavy foot traffic, and its Omega-shaped fiber helps the blades stand tall and resist matting in the areas that get walked on most. The blades are held to the backing through triple tuft-bind technology for maximum resistance to pull force, while the K29 Triple-Layered Non-Expansive Backing delivers superior seam strength and is perforated for efficient drainage, keeping the surface clean and dry after rain, spills, and post-party cleanup alike.

TigerTurf Tiger Putt brings a blend of field green and golf green blade tones to the putting surface, with a 45-ounce face weight and a 0.5-inch pile height engineered for true ball roll and a smooth, consistent playing surface. Both products are manufactured with U.V. inhibitors coating each fiber, so the color won’t fade no matter how much sun the yard is exposed to. With two young kids, this family wanted a yard that was play-friendly and easy to use, somewhere they could spend time with each other and with friends. Aloha Pavers laid out a grid of large-format pavers with strips of Everglade Fescue Pro running between them, carried the same pattern out from the covered patio to an open lawn, and finished the back of the yard with a putting green complete with cups and flags. Two things made the job challenging: Access to the backyard was tight, with a narrow route around the pool that every bit of material had to come through, and the yard had limited drainage and was holding puddles. To solve the latter issue, the crew installed drains beneath the synthetic turf and built an entirely new drainage system that runs out through a wall and into the front planter with a French drain setup. The finished yard gives the family a lounge area that all ages can enjoy, and none of it needs constant maintenance, giving the family more time together.
