The Wave Shockpad

Hello everyone, JW here.
Today I want to talk about one of the most important components in a synthetic turf system… the shock pad.
Many people focus on the turf fiber or the infill, but the shock pad is what helps protect the athlete from the ground up.
This is the Wave Shock Pad, and unlike many foam-based pads, it’s manufactured from injection-molded polypropylene.
Its engineered polypropylene structure is designed to maintain its geometry and structural integrity over the life of the field. Instead of depending on foam compression, the engineered rib system manages impact by directing the energy throughout the pad and away from the athlete.
Think of it like the suspension on a vehicle. Rather than absorbing all of the force in one spot, the Wave distributes the impact through its all engineered structure, helping reduce the force that’s returned directly back to the player.
Another advantage is drainage. Because this is an open engineered structure instead of a solid foam layer, water moves both vertically and horizontally, allowing the turf system to drain efficiently after rain or irrigation.
Installation is quick and efficient. The panels simply lock together—no adhesive is required, which saves time and labor while creating a consistent base beneath the turf.
The Wave pad provides outstanding shock absorption, excellent stability, and a system Gmax below 100 when installed as part of a properly designed synthetic turf system.
When you’re investing in a playing surface, don’t just ask what the turf looks like today. Ask how the entire system will perform years from now.
The foundation beneath the turf is every bit as important as the grass on top.
