Austin, TX — Golf enthusiasts know that nothing compares to the smooth, fast roll of a well-maintained country club green. However, keeping natural grass in playable condition is a constant challenge just about anywhere in the country, and especially in Texas, where weather fluctuates throughout the year from scorching summers to freezing winters. LawnPop recently installed 4,800 square feet of Synthetic Grass Warehouse’s True Putt in a home in Austin, TX. TigerTurf True Putt features a field green blade tone in a slit-film polypropylene material, and it has a pile height of 1 inch. With a 35-ounce face weight and a total weight of 62 ounces per square yard, True Putt was developed with ultimate ball control to provide PGA performance levels and high green speeds. It features a K29 triple-layered, non-expansive backing for superior seam strength and stability, making it ideal for professional-grade residential and commercial putting greens. True Putt, like all SGW synthetic grass products, is manufactured with UV inhibitors for long-lasting color that won’t fade with extended exposure to sunlight, and is non-toxic and lead-free.

LawnPop’s clients are country club members who wanted a true golf complex that matched the quality of a PGA-caliber putting green. They were seeking a green that rolled at 11.5 to 12 on the stimp and could receive approach shots from 20 to 140 yards out, allowing the ball to check up like it would on a real green. To achieve a professional-grade putting green, LawnPop recommended SGW’s True Putt to their client “for the professional putting green outcome it provides to act like a true green,” said LawnPop owner Angie Shepard.

The clients also wanted the putting green next to their pool, so LawnPop brought in over 10 feet of backfill to reach the desired height for the layout. “We designed and built a custom steel retaining wall to achieve this goal,” said Shepard. With teenage kids and friends often gathered by the pool, the new luxury putting green complex will be a highlight of the family’s entertaining for years to come.

LawnPop was founded in 2010 by co-owners Angie and Tanner Shepard to provide a low-maintenance solution for Texas families dealing with droughts and water restrictions throughout the year.
